A Celebration of Life service officiated by Dr. Ronnie Falvey will be at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Madison, followed by burial at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Milling Funeral Home in Union, MS on Friday, June 21 from 4 to 6 PM and from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22 at First Baptist Church in Madison, MS. Robert J. "Bob" Dallas, 81, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2013, in Madison, MS surrounded by his loving family and his beloved dog, Charlie.

Born on March 8, 1932 in Union, MS to Robert and Julia Dallas, Bobby graduated from House High School in 1950. He married Elizabeth Milling, and they recently celebrated sixty years of marriage. As a member of the United States Army, Bob served his country in Korea. He began a career in the trucking industry that took his family from Mississippi, to Louisiana and Texas before settling in D'Lo, Mississippi where he owned and operated the Dallas Truck Stop. He was active in D'Lo Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a Shriner; a Gideon; President of the Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce; a Member of the School Board; and President of the Bogan Ridge Water Association. An avid friend, Bob never met a stranger and treated all people with dignity and respect. He never passed up an opportunity to rescue and care for animals. Bobby is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Milling Dallas, three children, Bobby L. Dallas (Lisa) of Madison, Teri Dallas Jordan (Dan) of Ridgeland, and Tori Dallas Barton (Miles) of Collierville, Tennessee. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Molly Dallas, Megan Dallas, Anna Jordan, Robert Jordan, Aubrey Ann Barton, Eliza Barton, Caroline Barton; four sisters Margie Truhitt, Annette Boatner, Clara McMullan, and Faye Phillips; one brother Horace Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Julia Dallas; one sister Sarah Dallas Jones, and one brother Charles Dallas.

In 2004 Bob and Elizabeth retired and moved to Madison, Mississippi where he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Madison ARK Animal Rescue.
