Mable Cosby was the daughter of Thomas Henry Cosby (born in Yorkshire, England) and Louisa May (Obert, Dasbach) Cosby (born in Quincy, IL, USA.) Not much is known other than her interment is listed at Adams County Court House, in Quincy Illinois, and a newspaper article dated 16 February 1891 states Mable's funeral was to be held at the home of her parents, T H Cosby and Louisa Cosby, of 1006 North Fifth Street in Quincy, Illinois.
Mable had half sisters: Nellie and May Cosby from Thomas' first marriage, who were grown and living on their own in Moberly, Missouri; and Lulu and Nettie from Louisa's first marriage to Reinhold Dasbach, a tinsmith who died young.
