|Death: ||Jun. 16, 1892|
Maria Christiana Wilhelmine Schaller was born 3 November 1818 in Sachsenhausen, Waldeck, Saxon Germany. Her parents were Johann Stephan Schaller, and Friederike (Krummel) Schaller. In 1843 the family emigrated from Germany, sailed up the Mississippi River, and eventually settled in Quincy, Adams county, Illinois.
13 May 1847 she wed fellow immigrant, Henry Christopher Dasbach, in Quincy Illinois. They were both eighteen. They would go on to have several children together.
7 June 1892 her signature can be found on an affidavit in the pension file for her (half) brother, George C. Schaller. She could write her name (something not all could do in those times), and she signed her name Christiana Dasbach.
Christiana died at her home, 803 1/2 State Street in Quincy, of "congestive chills" according to her obituary. She was survived by her husband and seven of their children. The funeral was at the Jersey street German Methodist church, where they were members.
