Services for Jack LeRoy Anstine 60, of Rural Route One, who died Saturday, January 21, 1978 after a brief illness, were held at 2:oo p.m. Wednesday in the Schrader-Prell Chapel with the Re. Delbert Dick officiating. Burial was in the Wheatland Cemetery.
He was born July 15, 1917 in Peckham, Oklahoma and married Norma Fairchild, April 4, 1939 in Sedan, Kansas. She preceded him in death October 5, 1973.
Anstine moved to Wheatland in 1948 from Ponca City, Oklahoma to work as a pipeline inspector for the Continental Oil Company where he was employed for 20 years. He was an Army Veteran of World War 11. Two years ago he began working for Starr Line Versatile Trailer Mfg. Co. as a welder. On June 25, 1977 he married Patricia Kantrell, who survives. Other suvivors include one daughter, Mrs. George (Sue) Bauer Jr., of Wheatland; two sisters Luella P. Cottrell of Ellinwood, Kansas, and Pat Masters of Ponca City, Oklahoma and two granddaughters, Jackie and Kellie Bauer. His parenets Fred and Lurene Anstine (Green), two brothers Edwin and Joseph all prececeded in death.
Pall bearers were Ken Cook, Kenneth Bauer, Edwin Melcher, Jim Harris, George Bauer Sr. and Link Redding. A memorial has been established to the Wheatland Ambulance Equipment Fund. Schrader-Prell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
