LaRue Hurdell Anderson, 76 of Casey, Iowa, passed away Friday morning, August 8, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
LaRue was born Jan. 22, 1927 in Anita, Iowa, the son of Ingeman Sacharius and Amanda Christena Petersen Anderseon.
He graduated from the Wiota High School in 1947 and on June 4, 1949, LaRue Married Thelma Leona Stonebraker at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa. Thelma preceded him in death on May 9, 2003.
LaRue and Thelma farmed in Cass and Adair counties for many years. He retired in 1995 and moved to his acreage near Casey, Iowa.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita and was a member of the Quarte Horse Association. His life centered around his family and farming; putting in many long hours, working hard on their farms, tending the crops and livestock. He was particularly fond of raising and working with quarter horses.
LaRue is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, two brother-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
