The only child of Herbert Forrst Lane and Myrtle Louise Sibley Lane, Doris Ann Lane Irby was born in Ft. Worth, November 8, 1926. Doris was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, Ft. Worth, TX., and received a bachelor's and master's degree from Texas Christian University. Doris played in the TCU and Fort Worth Symphony orchestras and studied Spanish four summers at the University of Guajuato in Mexico.
