Mr. Allen Timothy "Boots" Ables, age 95, of Camp Buck Tom Road, died Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center, Harriman, TN. He was born April 19, 1915 in Hixson, TN. Mr. Ables was of the Methodist faith, a retired welder with Tennessee Products blast furnace, and was a world renowned hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Nancy Hixon Ables; wife, Dorothy Lee Brasel Ables; grandson, Mark Foster; sister, Ada Boles; some infant sisters; brothers, Howard Ables, Marvin Ables, and Carl Ables.
Survivors include: Daughters:Margaret Ann Foster & husband, Sonny of Rockwood, TN, Lois Easter & husband, Tom of Panama City Beach, FL. Betty Jean Long & husband, J.W. of Rockwood, TN., Wanda Simcox & husband, Marshall of Rockwood, TN. 10 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren
6 Great-Great Grandchildren, Kenny Ables of Oliver Springs, TN., Sisters: Lee Thompson of Rockwood, TN.,Bobbie Harvey of Valdosta, GA., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Charles Kelley officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clymersville Baptist Church.
