TIPTON, Iowa — Curtis A. Cromer, 83, of Tipton, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He retired in 1980 after working for 27 years as a livestock inspector with the United States Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Cromer was born June 1, 1915, to Curtis and Goldia (Clancy) Cromer in Moscow Township, Muscatine County. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1936.
Curtis accumulated many honors during the Muskies track and football seasons. He remained an avid football fan throughout his lifetime.
He married Odetta E. Wildasin on Oct. 22, 1938, in Clinton.
Curtis is leaving behind a legacy of many happy memories to his family and friends and to those who knew him.
A memorial fund dedicated to Alzheimer's research has been established.
