Rollins Lowndes Reaves Sr. was born on the 1st of January, 1810 in Horry County, South Carolina. In January of 1834, Rollins Reaves married Delilah Ann Gilbert of Thomasville, Georgia. Rollins and Delilah Gilbert Reaves were the parents of James, Daniel Asbury, Elizabeth Heard, Samuel Johnson, Richard Gilbert, Mark Bryan, Joshua Thomas "Josh", Solomon, Spicey Vianna, Martha Matilda, and Rollins Lowndes Reaves Jr. In 1872, Delilah Reaves passed away. Following Delilah's death, Rollins Reaves married Augusta Stanley. This union produced two children, John Latimore and Rosa Belle Reaves.
Rollins Lowndes Reaves was the son of Mark Reaves and Spicey (Spicy) Ann Smith Reaves.
