RICHARD ANDREWS CLANTON, Ala. - Richard D. Andrews, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 in his Clanton home. He had been ill for about a year. Born Aug. 11, 1929 in Garrett, he was a son of Lawrence Andrews and Nona (Quigley) Carter. Mr. Andrews had lived in Garrett until moving to Clanton about 10 years ago. He was a truck driver. He was a member of Lomax Independent Church of Clanton and Garrett Masonic Lodge 537 F&AM. Surviving him are his wife, Peggy (McBride) Andrews of Clanton; one son, Bobby Andrews of Decatur; one daughter, Carla Duckworth of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; and four brothers, Carl Andrews of Garrett, his twin brother Erle Andrews of Garrett, Robert Andrews of Bryan, Texas and Ralph Andrews of Newport Richey, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Tucker. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Christian Union Cemetery, rural Garrett. Pastor Lane Andrews will officaite.
