Rosella Mae Marr was born in James, IA. on Feb. 14, 1872.
When 18 months old her parents moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi.
On September 6, 1893, she was united in marriage to Mr. Wm Bappe
at Brookhaven. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bappe moved
to Iowa. To this union were born six children, who with their father survive.
They are: Justin, Eva, Ina, Bazil, Bessie and Victor. Mrs. Bappe converted at
the age of 16 and became a member of the M.E. Church and remained a
faithful member to the end. She was a woman who never hesitated to go
out of her way to help another in need. She was a loving wife and mther
and her last request to her loved ones was that they meet her in heaven.
Sympathy goes out to the motherless children.
Vain is the attempt to measure the loss of a mother to her chldren, for
there is no love like mother love. We believe the tender care devoted to
those nearest and dearest, went with her to the batter land, and in the
possibilities of eternity, may be needed here after. Beside her husband
and children, deceased is survived by her mother and father, two brothers
and one sister, all residing in Brookhaven, Mississippi. The funeral was held
last Monday, and the remains taken to Moville and interment made in the
cemetery at that place. ( Later the remains were moved to Graceland Cemetery
in Sioux City.)
