Howell P. Hathcock, Jr. was born ca 1827 in Pocohantas, Coffee Co, TN. He married Louisa (Louvice) Parker, ca 1846 in Cannon Co, TN. He died in 1864 in a Civil War Prision, Ft. Delaware, Delaware, USA. Burial was at New Castle County, Delaware, USA, Jersey Shore, Confederate Cemetery on Pea Patch Island, Delaware, USA. He was Confederate soldier captured by the Union Army and died as a POW, and died of chronic diarreha at age 37. He and Louisa (Louvice) had eight children, leaving her a widow, but never knowing what happened to her husband.
Military: Company B, 16th Tennessee Infantry Regiment.
Note: There is a monument behind the courthouse of McMinnville, TN in Murfreesboro TN engraved with the name of Howell Pinkley Joseph Hathcock, died at Ft. Delaware, DE as a POW in 1864,
