He was born to Jeanne and Richard Battle in Houston, Texas on November 12, 1949, and grew into a true child of the sixties with a love of guitars and nature. A cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother, he dedicated his life to the service of others. His life goal was to leave the planet better than he found it, which he embodied in his personal and professional life. He served as President and CEO of the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, the Humane Society in Fort Collins, Colorado, and Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services. As a kind, funny and honorable man, he was loved by all the people his life touched and he will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Jamy Battle, his daughter, Whitni Battle, his other children, Jeri Pritchett and John Thomas, his grandchildren, Erin VanZandt and Derek Pritchett, and his brother and sister, Rick Battle and Barbara McClellan. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice or plant something in memory of Jeff, who had a lifelong love of nature. A memorial service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 3401 Bellaire Dr. in Fort Worth, October, 13 at 2:00pm. Jeff ashes were scattered by his wife,in a place he loved.
