Frank (Franz) Angel was born in Lesnau, West Prussia (now Leśniewo) and was baptized at Mechau (Mechowo) Catholic parish. He was the son of Constantia Angel. Franz married Catharina Konkol at Mechowo parish on 5 Nov 1867. According to the marriage record, he was a widower. Franz and Catharine had seven children: August, Martha, Joseph, Julianna, twins Anton and Theophil, and John.
