Born 15 August 1839, Eliza (Ziegenfuss) Everett was the daughter of Pennsylvania natives, George Ziegenfuss and Anna M. (Getter) Ziegenfuss.

She was married in 1866 to John Henry Everett, the son of Joseph and Clara (Hargell) Everett of Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. They are shown on the Census for that year as married and living in Easton, but without children. By that time, J. Henry Everett had completed his Civil War service, and mustered out from the 47th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. The 1890 Veterans' Schedule shows that they were still living in Easton by that time.

The 1900 federal census shows the pair still there - now in their 60s and still without children - two tiny marks next to Eliza's name indicating that she had only ever given birth to one child and that he or she had not survived. She was widowed with the passing of her husband in July of 1907.

Eliza Everett followed him in death a few short years later, passing away at their home on Washington Street in Easton at 10:30 on the morning of 23 February 1910. She was interred at Easton Cemetery on 26 February. The primary cause of death was cholecystitis; the secondary cause was bronchial pneumonia.
