Services for Albert O. Blackburn, 62, of 2513 Onawa Ave, who died Thursday at College Hospital, will be at 1:30 pm Monday at Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Blackburn, who had been ill for a year with cancer, was born in Princeton, MN. He lived in Stuart (IA) before coming to Des Moines (IA) 14 years ago.
He was a retired water service mechanic for the Rock Island Lines and was a member of the Token Masonic Lodge at Stuart and at Des Moines Consistory.
Surviving are his widow, Imogene; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Forbes of Council Bluffs (IA), Mrs Willa Mae DeCamp of Redfield (IA), Mrs Lois Jean French of St. Joseph, MO, and Mrs Anita Adams of Des Moines (IA); four sons, Homer of Peru, IN, Harry of Adel (IA), Harold of Newark, OH, and Albert Orville, Jr. of Des Moines (IA); his father, Homer of Des Moines (IA); five sisters, Mrs. Edith Ontman of Kansas City, MO, Mrs Bernice Merchon of Redmond, WA, Mrs. Geraldine Holloway of Linn Creek, MO, and Lillie Blackburn and Mrs Sylvia Maxwell of Des Moines (IA); two brothers, Homer H. of Butte, MT and Alfred of Charles City (IA), and 29 grandchildren.
