Stanley Forbes Taylor was born February 15, 1906, in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, to Charles Taylor and Mary Ada Forbes Taylor. He was one of 13 children, 11 of whom lived to adulthood. Stanley immigrated with his family to the United States in 1915, and he became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. on April 12, 1940.
On April 14, 1931, in Pasadena, California, he married Farol Edith Haynes (born May 26, 1905, in Kansas). They had two daughters, Farolyn Ann Taylor (born January 28, 1937, in New York), and Arlene Grace Taylor (born December 22, 1941, in Kansas).
Stanley Taylor received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hardin-Simmons University in 1930. He became a Baptist minister and was ordained in 1930. He served as pastor or evangelist in California, Louisiana, New York, Texas, Michigan, Canada, Kansas, and in Okmulgee, Henryetta, and Talihina in Oklahoma. He retired in 1981, having served 51 years in the ministry.
