Aug. 10, 1898 Birmingham Jefferson County Alabama, USA
Attorney Thomas D. Shirkey received a telegram Wednesday announcing that Mr. George W. Crever had been instantly killed at Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday morning. Mr. Crever was well known in this city and county. The telegram gave no particulars, but his relatives here think that he was killed by a switch engine in the yards of Worthington, Munger and Pratt Co., cotton gin makers. Mr. Crever was foreman of this plant and his duties called him to all parts of the works. Mr. Crever's mother was visiting at his home for the summer.
