ATLANTA - The Funeral For Steven Boyd, 40, of Atlanta will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Atlanta United Methodist Church, the. Rev. Ron C. Melzer officiating. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, with Masonic rites accorded at 8 p.m.
Mr. Boyd was dead at 3 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 10, 1992) at his home. His death was attributed to natural causes.
He was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Lincoln, the son of Elwood and Eileen Williams Boyd. He married Mary Ann Ray June 4, 1971, at Union City, Tenn. She survives.
Also surviving are his stepmother, Gladys Boyd, Lincoln, who raised him from infancy; one son, Christopher Ray, at home; one daughter, Heather Lynn, at home; two brothers, Ronald, Lincoln; and Thomas, Mapleton; one stepbrother, William Sahs, Lincoln; and one stepsister, Patsy Kenning, Lincoln.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Boyd was a correctional officer at the Lincoln Correctional Center and a former employee of Caterpillar Inc., East Peoria. He was a member of Atlanta Masonic Lodge 165 and Atlanta United Methodist Church.
He was a former Atlanta Cub Scout leader and Little League coach. He also was a former Atlanta Rescue Squad member.
He also belonged to the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association and the American Motorcycle Association.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad or the American Diabetes Association Juvenile Diabetes Affiliate.
