Catherine Neff Summers Sundberg (called Kay) is the mother of Herbert Garfield Summers II and of Nancy Dutton Heywood. Catherine was born in Schenectady, NY. Her mother is Catherine Murray and her father is Harry Neff. Her first husband was Benjamin Dutton of Newtonville, Massachusetts. Her second husband was Richard Norman Summers, of Boston, Massachusetts. Her third husband is Harry Sundberg of Swampscott, Massachusetts. Catherine is buried with Harry in the Swampscott Cemetery in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Swampscott is located north of Boston, near Lynn, Massachusetts.
Catherine was of Dutch ancestry. She was creative;enjoyed painting; flowers and social events. Along with her husband Richard, they operated the General Wolfe Inn, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The General Wolfe Inn was famous for its food and lodging worldwide. Many famous people stayed at this charming country inn. Richard Summers had the very first motel in the state of New Hampshire, in 1952. This motel was on the same property as the General Wolfe Inn. Richard Summers is buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Her son Herb and his wife June have one daughter,Carolyn Summers, P.T., who was born September 21, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts. She is very interested in the genealogy of her family. Kay (Catherine), would be proud of the lovely woman Carolyn has become today.
