Obituary: Stanley I. Beckman, 87, died Thursday, March 20, 2008. Mr. Beckman was born on Jan. 20, 1921, in Baker and graduated from Baker High School. He and Maxine Rainey were married on Sept. 6, 1942. After service in the United States Army, Mr. and Mrs. Beckman lived and worked in Miles City and Whitehall, later moving to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he retired in 1983. They then moved to Tacoma, Wash., to be near family, where Mr. Beckman could also enjoy his hobbies of woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; son, Dan; and grandsons, Stuart and Alec. He also is survived by sister, Betty of Miles City; and two brothers, Robert of Bozeman and Wayne of Auburn, Wash., and their families, including several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three. Brothers Alvin, Claude, and Bernard; and two sisters. Ruth and Iva Mae.
