Franklin Dorsey Little October 17, 1920 — December 23, 2010
Franklin Dorsey Little, age 90, passed away in his home in Lyman, Wyoming on December 23, 2010.
He was born to Thomas Dorsey and Leona (Taylor) Little on October 17, 1920 in Beech Grove, Kentucky.
Before matriculating at the now- named Dental School of University of the Pacific in San Francisco, Calif. where he earned a doctorate in Dental Science, Frank delivered newspapers on his bicycle, was a copy boy at the Arizona Republic and the Phoenix Gazette, was Traffic Manager for radio station KTAR, and piloted B-17s for the United States Army Air Corp during WWII, during which he was awarded 3 Bronze Battle Stars. He later served as a Dental Officer (Captain) at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif.
Frank married Billie Jean Ferson on November 20, 1952 in Carson City, Nev., and their marrige was later solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Temple in Los Angeles, Calif.
He was married to Lillian Shirley Keller prior to that marriage.
Frank had dental practices in Sacramento, Calif., and Mesa, Ariz., and obtained a General Contractor's license building and selling homes on spec.
He was a past and current member of many professional organizations, including but not limited to The American Dental Association, Arizona State Dental Association, California State Dental Association, Public Information Committee, Central Arizona Dental Society (Chairman, 1974-76).
He was also a Lions Club and National Rifle Association member. He served on the High Council of the Church of the Latter Day Saints during the 1970s and was a Temple Worker in the St. George, Utah, Temple.
Frank enjoyed restoring Packard automobiles, flying, and making jewelry.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; his daughter, Charolette Ann Little; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife Billie Jean; sons, John (Jane Ann) Little, of Fremont, Calif., Timothy (Teresa) Little, Riverton, Utah; Ronald (Donna) Little, Cedar City Utah; daughters, Janet (Larry) Seamons, Bountiful, Utah; Julie Taggart, Orem Utah; Cynthia (Bruce) Peterson, Reno, Nev.; Sherri (Bruce) Bluemel, Lyman; Lori (Rob Jones) Little, Phoenix, Ariz.; his brother, James (Peggy) Little, Meridian, Idaho; 46 grandchildren, and 60 great-grandchildren.
