Dad was only able to complete 2 yrs of High school.Times were hard and it was necessary for him to get a job.He worked on several jobs ,such as in a Sawmill,driving a log truck.Singing on the Radio in Jackson,he always had a terrific voice.He was on the Forest Fire Dept.By the age of 21 he worked at the Argonaut Gold Mine as a Mucker.He then joined the Army and took his basic in Ft Leonard Wood Mo.He was discharged with a hernia.During his time in the Army he visited Kansas City where he met and married Roma Jean Morrison. They had two boys George Robert and Stephen Marlin.Dad loved to fish and hunt ,he also liked working with wood and house painting. He worked in the Kansas City area after the service as a Plumbing Warehouse Forman "KC Plumbing and Supply Co."Most of his working years he was a Truck Painter for "General Bodies Mfg" on Penn St KCMO,
