Sterling N. Blair, Esq., who has been ill for nearly a year, died on Friday of last week. His funeral was held from the house on Sunday at 11am, Rev. Mr. Taylor, of Rushville, officiating Mr. Blair was a life-long resident here; was a noble, honest, upright man, was converted when quite young, and joined the Presbyterian church, of which he was a consistent member and officer. He had held a number of town offices, among which were Supervisor and Justice of the Peace. The many friends that gathered at the funeral gave testimony that he was a good man. He leaves a wife, one daughter and two sons to mourn the loss of husband and father.
