Jane Ray Aadnesen, a life-long resident of Salt Lake City, Utah until 1998, died July 13 in Thomasville, Georgia.

Jane was born to Helen Owens Ray and Paul Hinckley Ray on December 21, 1918. She attended the College of William and Mary and graduated from the University of Utah at age 20, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi with a degree in Latin.

Jane married Grant C. Aadnesen, a Salt Lake Attorney, who preceded her in death in 1998. She enjoyed her affiliation with Pi Beta Phi, Salt Lake Junior League, Holy Cross Auxliary, St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral Vestry, St.Paul's Episcopal Church and last but not least "Sewing Club". Jane was an oustanding mother, a truly supportive grandmother and a loyal and faithful wife. She exemplified the true meaning of a lady. Jane was known for her wit, brains, beauty, and grace. Jane adored her peers and all their children. She equally enjoyed all her children's friends. Jane still fondly remembered everyone until her final days.

Her two younger sisters; Mary Ray Foreman and Pauline Ray Kehlenbeck preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children Paul Ray Aadnesen (Summer), Christopher Aadnesen (Betty) and Mary Anne Aadnesen (Ronald Norris). Jane is also survived by eight grandchildren, Catherine, Alicia, Gene (Paul), Aric, Brian, Nicholas (Chris), Dylan and Paul (Mary Anne).

Additionally, she enjoyed eight step-grandchildren, James, Rick, Cynthia, Brad, Brooke, Joseph, Jason and Mahrea. Her surviving nieces and nephews all salute her as a wonderful Aunt and the last of a special generation!

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral on Saturday, August 25th at 2:00 p.m. Please join us in the Parish Hall afterwards for some fellowship and further celebration of her life.
