Brian Thomas Abraham, of Atkinson NH, passed away on August 2, 2012, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill MA after a long and valiant fight against cancer. He never gave up the will to live and comforted others during his struggle. Brian was born in Worcester MA on June 1, 1947, to the late Margaret (Dolan) Abraham and Robert L Abraham.

He was educated in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969. He received ROTC training at WPI where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Brian served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 including a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division where he received the Bronze Star Medal among other honors. He earned a Masters Degree in Engineering Science from Clarkson College in Potsdam NY in 1977 as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University in Boston MA in 1979.

Brian and his family moved to Plaistow NH in 1973 and moved to Atkinson NH in 1988. He began his career at the former Western Electric/Bell Labs. He retired from Lucent Technologies as a Director of Quality in 2001. He went on to a second career as the Administrative Officer of the New England Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administra-tion in Boston, retiring in December 2011.

Brian will always be remembered as a good, gentle, and kind man. He was very active throughout his life and enjoyed several outdoor pursuits, especially golfing, tennis, skiing, and visiting the beach for a swim. He loved traveling and took his wife and sons on many vacations to ski out west. He and Jackie made numerous trips to different European countries to sightsee and ski. They traveled to various islands and to Florida to relax. They toured the U.S. and frequently visited their favorite destination, Lake Tahoe, to ski Heavenly Valley.

His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. Spending time with them was always his top priority. Watching his grandsons' sporting events and cheering them on gave him immense pleasure. He played with all of his grandchildren tirelessly. His goal was to be a positive influence in their lives and he certainly achieved that goal.

He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline "Jackie" (DiPasquale) Abraham for 43 years. He was the devoted Dad and Papa to his son Brian T., Jr., and wife Lisa (Avolizi) and their three sons Conor T., Nicholas J., and Donovan R.; and son Steven M. and wife Heather (Bordick) and their children Mae Rose and Jameson L. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who adored their Uncle "Bri."

He was predeceased by an infant daughter who died on his birthday in 1979 and his brother William R., who passed away in 2008.

He will be sadly missed by his golf and tennis buddies and his many friends and relatives. He loved to socialize and enjoyed dining out and having a glass of fine wine. He was intelligent, energetic, fearless, and loving. He was an absolutely wonderful person.
