Myrtle Bohmer Anderson, daughter of John and Alice Weldon Bohmer, was born on July 19, 1890, at Battle Creek, Michigan, and passed away at Rawlins County Hospital in Atwood, Kansas on April 28, 1968 at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
She came to western Kansas as a child, and spent those childhood years on a farm west of St. Francis. Here she lived with her grandparents and an Aunt. When the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Weldon passed away, the Aunt, Mary Weldon, cared for her.
On January 1, 1907 she was united in marriage with John W. Anderson at Atwood, Kansas. To this union four children were born. Her life was long and useful. Needlework and carving were her special interests.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and by one daughter, Mable A. Pickett.
She is survived by her son Marion J. Anderson and his wife Hope of Denver, Colorado; daughters Merle A. Hallagin and her husband Elmer of McDonald, and Marie A. Hallagin and her husband Marion, also of McDonald; son-in-law Orville Pickett of Arvada, Colo. There are two sisters, Mrs Olive Fell of Wichita, Mrs Lillian Zaring, also of Wichita, and brother-in-law Lonnie Zarling. There are nine grandchildren and 16 (great) grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also join in cherishing her memory.
Funeral services were held from the Federated Church on April 30, 1968 with Rev. C. L. Swihart officiating. Internment was in Grace Cemetery in McDonald.
