Paris was born in the Lamar Community and a graduate of Lamar High School, Class of 1942. Prior to enlisting, he was associated with the Apprentice School and Shipyard at Newport News, Virginia.
Paris enlisted in the United States Army on 13 April 1944 and completed training at Camp Blanding, Florida, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Paris was assigned to the Anti-Tank Company, 274th Infantry Regiment, 70th Infantry Division and deployed with his unit to Europe in December 1944. He participated in two unit campaigns; the Rhineland and the Ardennes-Alsace. While engaged with the enemy during the Battle of the Bulge, Paris was Killed in Action at Rothbach, Alsace, France.
Paris was 21 years of age and the second son of Ira Shafter Dulaney and Jessie Mae Kyker. He was married to Geneva and they had one son: Jimmy.
