Milo Ellis Ballard died in Milton Freewater Oregon at the age of 58. He died on May 24, 2008 in the local Hospital. Milo was born on August 23, 1949. Parents Donald Ray Ballard and Gladys (Hanson) Ballard.in Hillsboro Oregon He grew up in Sherwood Oregon. He then moved to Des Moies, Washington.
Milo graduated from Mt. Rainier High School in 1968. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in December of 1968 and served his country for 12 years.Those years included assinments in Vietnam, Camp Pendleton and El Toro Marine Air Station in California, Andrews Air Force bace in Washington D.C., Arizona and in Wisconsin as a Marine Recrutiter.
After leaving the service Milo took a job at Boeing in 1980 as an airplane Mechanic, and traveled all over the world on a ground repair team. He took Early retirement in 1997 after the onset of cancer.
Having visited Milton Freewater in the past he moved there in 2005 from Lake Charles La. During his time there he served as a volunteer driver for DHS, a kitchen volunteer at the Senior center and helped with kids Activity Program at the Armory.
He could also be found leading a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to hunt, fish, and spending time in the mountains. In fair weather, you would find him on a motorcycle ride. He loved music and was a member of the Steppin Country dance club.
Milo was a 10 year cancer survivor. He is loved and missed by all his family and friends.
Milo is predeceased in death by his father Donald Ray Ballard of Seattle. He is survived by his mother Gladys Ballard of Renton Washington, Jerry K. Ballard and wife Roberta of Pueblo Colo. Wes Ballard of Tacoma Washington, Tim Ballard of Washington.Sisters: Donna Krewson of Tigard Oregon, Joyce Uyeno and husband Mike of Seattle, Washington. Also by two sons, Milo Ballard Jr. and Keith Ballard, of California. Several neices and nephews, who will all miss him dearly.
