She was born June 6, 1920, in Dougherty, Okla., the daughter of Millard Marion and Lena Ann Brumley Baker.
Mrs. Higgins was a member of Gage Park Baptist Church and the American Baptist Women's Group.
She married Carl C. Higgins in August 1940 in Miami, Okla. He died Jan. 9, 1966. Mrs. Higgins also was preceded in death by a son, Glenn D. Higgins, on Nov. 18, 1980, and a granddaughter, Heather Lee Price, in 1974.
Survivors include nine daughters, Dee Grubb, Silver Lake, JoAnn Hepworth, Linda Moran, Ellen C. and Sandra Allen, all of Topeka, Jan McIntosh, Salina, Tanya Higgins, Lyndon, Donna Higgins, in Florida, and Naomi Devlin, Manhattan; four sons, J.C. Higgins, Mike Higgins and Pat Higgins, all of Topeka, and David Higgins, Cane Hill, Ark.; a sister, Jessie Ann Brumley, Harrison, Ark.; a brother, Lewis Baker, in California; 48 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
