Mrs. Frank T. Nelson, mention of whose illness has been made in previous issues of this paper, died on Thursday of this week from cancer, after having been in failing health since last spring. She had been a patient at the hospital the past three weeks.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of the family and at 2:15 o'clock from Emmanuel Church. Rev. W.E.Harmann will preach the funeral sermon. Interment will be made in Ripley Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson was born at Volsjo, Sweden, May 31, 1863, and in June, 1885, came to Litchfield to join her sister, Mrs. Karna Albin who had preceded her to the United States. She was married June 10, 1887 to Frank T. Nelson. With the exception of three and a half years, during which the family lived in North Dakota, Mrs. Nelson had lived in Litchfield continuously since her arrival from abroad.
Mrs. Nelson was one of the earliest members of Emmanuel Chruch and was very prominent in its activities. She was president of the aid society of the church and was also prominently identified with its remaining organizations. She was most loyal to her family and to the immediate relatives, a most lovable and loving wife and mother.
Surviving are the husband and the following children: Sidney Nelson, Rowley, Alberta, Canada; Robert F. Nelson, Champion, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. H.C. Allers, Wheelock, North Dakota; Mrs. Ralph Rustedt, White Earth, North Dakota; and Boyd Nelson, Litchfield. Other survivors are a brother, P.K.Nelson, Tagus, North Dakota, and one sister, Mrs. Karna Albin of this city. All of the children were at the bedside of their mother during her last illness. Mr. Allers arrived yesterday to attend the funeral.
