Axel V. Nelson died suddenly late Thursday afternoon, May 27, 1926. He had been ill with the flu during the winter and had not recovered as he should. However, he was about town. On Thursday morning he submitted to an operation for the transfusion of blood. Luther J. Nelson, a brother furnished the blood. Mr. Nelson got along nicely till early in the afternoon when he sank.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Dahl and at 2:30 from Emmanuel Church. Rev. W.E.Harmann will officiate. Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson had been a resident of Litchfield since coming to Meeker County with his parents in September, 1876. Later he spent five years in the town of Cosmos, then returning to Litchfield to continue his home. Mr. Nelson was in poor health for 25 years. He is well known about town, was active in his church and its circles and was very highly regarded.
The following brothers and sisters survive: Frank T. Nelson, Luther J. Nelson and Mrs. Henry E. Dahl, all of Litchfield; Albert A. Nelson Minneapolis; Edward O. Nelson and Mrs. Julius Jacobson, Cosmos; and Mrs. E.P. Jackman, Dassel.
