Marie was born in Oak Harber, to Arnold and Jantina (Beirlng) Arends. She moved with her parents and family to Prosser in 193. She graduated from Prosser High School and Yakima Business College.
She was employed by Benton County Abstract and Title in Prosser. She moved to Sunnyside in 1948, where she was employed by Smith and McKibben Insurance and Real Estate for seven years. Later, she was employed by American Can Company/James River Corp. for 34 years until retiring in 1990. She moved to Zillah in 1998.
She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association for many years and Lower Valley Hospice. She was a lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church, and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She sang in the choir for almost 50 years. Music was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed fishing, hiking, walking, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and traveling, especially to Whidbey Island and the Oregon Coast.
Marie is survived by two brothers, Bill and Dick, two sisters Angeline and Ida.
Marie was preceded in death by mother and father: and two sisters Jeanette Spradlin and Reka Ramerman.
