Richard was the step-son of Mr.Herbert Fischer and his mother was Mrs. Edith Fischer. Richard died in Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego, CA, of an undetermined illness causing high fever. He was serving with the U.S. Navy there.

He was a graduate of Granger High School.

The serviceman is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fischer, four sisters, Mrs. Renee Longsine, Union Gap; Peggy, Kathy, and Elaine, all of Sunnyside; one brother,Johnny Albee at home and three step-brothers,Terry Fischer, at home; Dennis Fischer, U. S. Navy in Spain, and Larry Fischer, U.S. Army, Ft. Bragg, N.C.
