Birth: Jun. 12, 1939
Brownsville
Cameron County
Texas, USA
Death: May 20, 2002
Outlook
Yakima County
Washington, USA

Candelario was the son of Celodonio and Rita G. Alvarez. He moved with his mother and brothers and sisters to the Lower Yakima Valley in March of 1945. Cande never married and continued to reside with his mother in their home in Outlook. His mother passed away June 19, 1983 and Csnde continued to live in their home until his passing. His father preceded his mother's death by exactly 41 years to the day, having died June 19, 1942.

In his earlier years, Cande worked alongside his family members in various farms in the Lower Yakima Valley until ill health required his early retirement. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed tending to flowers and other plants around his home.

Cande or "Tio Cande" as he was lovingly called by his many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews, adored all of his family members. He loved spending time taking care of many of the family's children and was particularly fond of taking walks in his neighborhood with the little ones.

Cande loved to listen to Mexican music; particularly sons by Ruben Vela and Tony dela Rosa. Among his favorite Mexican songs was "Un Dia a la Vez", which was one of his mother's favorite songs. The day prior to his last hospitalization he asked his sister to keep the stero going until 4:00 in the morning.

Cande is survived by two brothers, Luis(Conduelo)Alvarez and Andres(Juana)Gonzalez; five sisters, Celedonia(Sally)Robles, Petra Cardenas, Paula Guerra, Gerardo(Fernando)Gatica, and Rosie(Gilbert)Gomez, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides his parents, Cande was preceded in death by two brothers, Ramon and Manuel Alvarez; and three sisters, Maria Magdalena Alvarez, Demetria Morales, and Siria Limon.

Cande is deeply missed by all his loving family and will remain in their hearts forever.
