Birth: May 25, 1859
Death: Mar. 21, 1935

This is a transcription of a printed obituary, probably from the Barron paper, but not identified so it could also have been the Rice Lake paper. It was found in Roy Holman's scrapbook, but is in very poor condition.
Mrs. Julia Andresen Holman was born May 25, 1859 at Stenjaer, Norway and passed away at the Lakeside Methodist Hospital at Rice Lake last Thursday evening, March 21. She was recovering from an illness of pneumonia when whe suffered a stroke which resulted in her death. She had reached the age of 75 years, nine months, and 26 days.
She came to the United States in 1883, to Menomonie, Wis., where she was married to Rasmus Holman in October of the same year. They lived at Menomonie until 1885, when they came to Prairie Farm and settled on a farm near there. Here they cleared land and built a home, suffering the hardships and trials of pioneer days.
Mr. and Mrs. Holman were the parents of six children. Her husband died in the fall of 1902, and two children, Edward and Helen, also preceded their mother in death. In 1912 the family moved to Prairie Farm where she lived until about ten years ago, since when she had been dividing her time among her four surviving children, namely, Mrs. Robert Kelly of Philadelphia, Pa.; Albert, of Oakland, Calif.; John of Prairie Farm, and Roy of Turtle Lake. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, at 12 o'clock at the Lyle Funeral Chapel at RIce Lake at which Rev. O. H. Lund, her former pastor, officiated, and at two o'clock at Akers Lutheran Church at Prairie Farm, Rev. David Lovaas officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery at Prairie Farm. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hager sang two appropriate songs. The pallbearers were Alfred Johnson, Magnus Hanson, Martin Aaen, Eric Guldvog, George Peterson, and Iver Saxberg, all former neighbors. Her sons were all present at the funeral services, but her daughter, Mrs. Kelly, was unable to be here because of ill health.

Additional note: Although this obituary states the marriage took place at Menomonie, the marriage certificate says Julia and Rasmus were married in Prairie Farm.
