Birth: 1st of three known children in Fayette, Howard county, Missouri.

The house pictured at right is the home the Hall's lived in at southeast corner at 6th and Garrison streets in Carthage.

Census: 1880, age 6 Fayette, Howard county, Missouri with mother, maternal grandmother & two younger siblings.

Reportedly moved to Carthage around 1897.

This week's Fayette Democrat Leader contains a full column write-up of the Hall-Hendrix wedding, and speaks in the most complimentary terms of both Miss Hendrix and Mr. Hall. Of the former, it says: "Miss Hendrix is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Adam Hendrix, one of the pioneer citizens and bankers of Fayette; the daughter of the late Mr. Fremont Hendrix and a young woman who is dearly loved by her friends for her bright, amiable disposition, and who is universally admired for her beauty and accomplishments."

Census 1900, age 23 Carthage, Jasper county, Missouri with husband & two children at 612 south Garrison avenue.

~ 1903 ~ According to two newspaper articles in the 1903, Carthage (Missouri) Evening Press of June 3 & 15, Mary was an invited guest of Harriette Gray at her home in Springfield, MO along with eleven other lady's for a week of entertainment, including a two day excursion to Arkansas' resort, Monte Ne, aboard Carl Gray's private railroad car.

Census: 1910, age 36, Carthage, Jasper county, Missouri with husband & five children, renting at 1107 south Garrison

~ Carthage Press, 28 FEB 1918, Mrs. C. T. Hall will leave tonight for St. Louis to be with her sister, Miss Magdalen Hendricks, who underwent a very serious operation at the St. Luke's hospital. From St. Louis Mrs. Hall will go to Upper Alton, Ill., to visit her son, Winston Hall, who is a student at Western Military Academy. Mrs. Burt Blair, of Joplin, will accompany her and will visit her sister, Miss Maude Luscombe, who has been a patient in the St. Luke's hospital for two years.

Census: 1920, age 45 Carthage, jasper county, Missouri with hubby & five kids, at 600 south Garrison avenue, northside of library.

Census: 1930, age 56, Carthage, Jasper county, Missouri a widow with three daughters & one granddaughter at 600 south Garrison avenue.

Death: at Jasper county T B hospital in Webb City, Jasper county, Missouri, Missouri Death Certificate, informant daughter Mrs Muriel Hansford.

DEATH OF MRS. MARY HALL
WELL-KNOWN CARTHAGE WOMAN LONG IN ILL HEALTH

A native of Fayette, Missouri, She came to Carthage About 47 Years Ago



Mrs. Mary Hendrix Hall, 70, well-known Carthage resident, passed away at 12:40 o'clock this afternoon at the Jasper county tuberculosis hospital in Webb City.

Mrs. Hall had been in failing health almost two years and last December she was moved from her home, 600 South Garrison, to the hospital. Her condition had been critical several days.

She was born on November 29, 1873, in Fayette, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Hendrix. Mrs Hall came to Carthage about 47 years ago and had made this her home since.

Surviving are a son, Winston Hall of Webb City, who is now in New York City on business;

four daughters

Mrs. Royle Hansford and
Miss Elizabeth Hall all of Carthage and
Mrs. Wlin John of Mt. Vernon

a sister;
Miss Magdalen Hendrix of Warrensburg and

three grandchildren;
Mary Dorothy Blakey
Charlotte Jeanne Hansford and
Royle Winston Hansford of Carthage

Mrs. Hall was a niece of the late Bishop Eugene R. Hendrix of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. At the time of his death several years ago he was senior bishop of the Methodist church.

She was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Tourist Club.

Mrs. Hall was highly educated and was extremely artistic. Her handiwork in various lines was regarded as outstanding. She also was kindly and understanding and was beloved by all who knew her.
