Charles F. Barker, 82, of Parkersburg went to be with his Lord on Aug. 16, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1927, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a son of the late Orval and Velma Kuhl Barker.

Charles retired from Williamstown Steel as a certified A-1 Welder. He enjoyed gardening and hunting and was a member of the NRA. He was also a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by loving wife of 62 years, Ireta F. Leisure Barker, whom he married Feb. 1, 1947; one daughter, Deborah Havens and husband, Virgil, of Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Christina Figueroa and husband, Erik, of Hawthorne, Calif.; one great-granddaughter, Jamie A. Figueroa, also of Hawthorne; two brothers, Oval Barker and wife, Sarah, of Parkersburg and Jack Barker and wife, Charlotte, of Williamstown; and one niece, Diana Ridenhour of Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jenkins, who passed away this past May.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Brian Long officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
