DIES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS
Leavenworth Pioneer Business Man Succumbs at the Age of 54.
Leavenworth, Kan., Feb. 20.--W. J. Shoemaker, member of the Dodsworth & Co. bookbinders and stationers, died here Saturday after a long illness. He leaves a wife and three children, two girls and one boy.
Mr. Shoemaker was born March 26, 1845, and would have been 54 years of age next month. He came to Kansas with his parents in the early 50's and had resided here since. He has a sister, Mrs. Mary C. Everhardy, living in California and a number of relatives in Cincinnati, O. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. N. Page will perform the religious services. He was also a member of the Masonic fraternity. His wife is a sister of the late Sam Dodsworth.
