Nannie (Alma Marlow McClure Alexander)- was my grandmother. She was married lst to Rensalare Edwards McClure and they had one child- my mother-= Alma McClure Wilkins( Moma died in the Mississippi River on March 3,1963(her body was never recovered)= there is a memorial headstone for her behind Nannie & Amie's monument. Nannie & Rensalare divorced and she later married Amos Vincent Alexander and they were married until he passed away at home. Nannie died in 1978 at NTZ Regional Hospital. (burial was handled by Laird Funeral Home). During her life Nannie worked for several law firms(she was studying to take the bar exams but the War came along), and later became a tax preparer. (She had a home office for many many years and did tax returns for alot of NTZ folks * businesses(including one rather "unsavory" Madam- but that's another story- LOL-(when Nannie couldn't see to do the work=- she passed if off to my Sister Pat Gamberi.)-= Nannie had 3 brothers - Orvis Marlow,Sr, James Marlow("Jamie") both of NTZ and John Marlow(of Vicksburg) and one sister- Alice Marlow Whitt of NTZ(mother of 3 boys- John Whitt,Jr.(honestly not sure where Johnny is now), James "Jimmy" Whitt of NTZ and Robert Leslie "Les" Whitt(who was curator of the Alexandria,LA Zoological Park until his untimely death a few years ago). Amos was a member of the Elks Club plus was on the Santa Claus committee also (we were one of the "stops" for the committee on Candy throwing day. :)Nannie is survived by her two granddaughters - 2 great grandsons,1 great granddaughter and 3 great-great grandsons and 2 great-great granddaughters. Pat & I both miss her and Amie very much and we both say- WHEW when we just think our those grandbabies being "granny spoiled" if she and Amie were still here- nuff said. LOL
