Frances Purcell (Pursel) Butler, was the daughter of Eli Purcell (Pursel), of NJ, and Jane Thompson-Purcell, of OH. She was the sister of Lanson, Martha, Eugene, Nancy (Swan), Sarah (Swan), Daniel W., George M., John H., and Ida. She married Sylvester Butler, and was the mother of C. H. Butler, informant on her MO death certificate. Her brother Daniel Webster Pursel moved to Webster county, MO, where there are many descendants today. Her brother George died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Her brothers Lanson and Eugene stayed in the Chillicothe area as did she. Her sister Sarah married Benjamin Swan. Her sister Martha also married (Swan)but has not been traced. Her brother John Homer died in 1942, after Ida in 1936. Frances Pursel Butler died of cerebral apoplexy/stroke. May Frances rest in peace beside her husband sylvester in Edgewood Cem., near her parents and other relatives.
