Dianne Dee DeHaven passed away 8-7-2002 from complications of a respiratory ailment. She was born in Wellington, Kansas to Kenneth C. & Hazel Doggett on March 9, 1935. When she was a young child the family moved to the Spokane, Washington area, where she grew up. She graduated valedictorian from Freeman High School near Spokane. She then attended WSU where she met Harold DeHaven. The two married on September 11, 1955 in Pullman. she then briefly attended Eastern W Before attending U of W where she received a bachelor's in education. The couple made their home in Seattle.
Dianne loved camping and enjoyed the outdoors with her husband. She possessed a great appreciation for wild flowers. She was a member of the Forestors most of her life. She was editor of the Forestors Newspaper and active in charities associated with the group. Dianne belonged to the Methodist faith. She was an expert at needlecraft and an accomplished pianist.
Dianne has three surviving siblings & their spouses: Kathleen and Jack Hill of Spokane; Dixie and David Adams of Kenewick; and Ken and Karen Doggett of Bend Oregon. She has three surviving sisters-in-law & spouses: Ellen and Bill Durham of Jefferson, OR; Alice and Glen Cannon of Sweetwater, Idaho; And Mary Grace Summers of Lewiston, Idaho. She was a loved aunt to 15 nieces & nephews and several greats.
Dianne was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, Harold's parents, and her parents. A graveside service will be held at Cold Springs Cemetery near Reubens, Idaho, August 12 at 2pm. A potluck reception will follow at the Cannon home in Sweetwater.
