He was graduated from Murphysboro Township High School and was employed at Phelps Dodge Corp., in Murphsyboro.
He leaves his parents; and his grandmother, Mrs. Phoebe Verbal of Murphysboro.

The Rev. Harry R. Chasteen, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tower Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Dale and I were 2nd cousins in that his grandmother, Nellie Grace (Jacobs) Boyer and my grandmother, Anna Mariah (Jacobs) McEntire were sisters. While Dale and I knew of each other in High School, we neither one were aware that we were related until the evening just before Dale died when I made my peace with him, and he made his peace with me having discovered our relatedness.
I don't remember much about Dale as we weren't friends during his lifetime, but I do remember that his favorite song was "Little Deuce Coupe" by The BeachBoys.
