GEORGE BOYER DIES Funeral Services Set Tuesday for Murphysboro Man
George P. Boyer, 91, of 114 S. 14th St., Murphysboro, died Sun- day at the Jackson County Nurs- ing Home after an illness of eight months.
He was a retired painter, and had lived in Murphysboro about 69 years.
Mr. Boyer was born in Grayson County, Va., Dec. 4, 1870, the son of Granville and Nancy Mallory Boyer.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Boyer leaves daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Allard of Vergennes; Mrs. Joe Williams of Murphysboro and Mrs. Ed Hunter of Oakland, Calif.; sons, Haskell Boyer of Fort Worth, Tex., and Eldron Boyer and Ernest Boyer, both of Murphysboro; and 14 grandchild- ren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchild- ren.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home in Murphysboro. The Rev. Garry Jenkins will offi- ciate. Burial will be in the Par- ish Cemetery at Vergennes. Family links: Children: Lela M. Boyer Williams (1910 - 1988)* *Calculated relationship
