Frances Williams Thrailkill, born August 12, 1921 in Snellville, GA to Exah Guthrie and Lathan Williams, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2008, surrounded by her children, after a long, brave battle with multiple myeloma. This amazing lady was known by all who knew her as someone who loved her life and who improved the lives of everyone who were blessed to know her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her wonderful friends, neighbors and large family, which included many cousins, nieces and nephews. Frances was a Charter Member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church and a member of the Joyful Sunday School class. She and her late husband, Jim, were owners of Alford Bros. in Scottdale, GA, and when they closed the business she became Manager of Williams Bros. Lumber Co. in Chamblee, GA and Snellville, GA. She spent the last weeks of her life at Hospice Atlanta where she and her family were shown great love and support.

Frances was preceded in death by her first husband, Erwin Thrailkill, and by her second husband, Jim Cleveland and her daughter-in-law, Lynne Everitt Thrailkill.

She is survived by her children Peggy Sue Miller (David), Judy Dianne Grier (John) and Joe Sims Thrailkill; her brother Harold Williams; sisters Martha Ray, Jackie King (George) and Ann Myers (Ed); grandchildren Kim Tompkins, Scott Grier, Rik Thrailkill, Melissa Pratt, Julie Weber, Ryan Thrailkill and Keith Thrailkill, in addition to nine precious great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church Saturday, November 15, at 2 PM with Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 PM in the church. In lieu of flowers, a contribution would be appreciated to Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, Lucerne Baptist Church or Hospice Atlanta.
