Husband of Dolores Zelus. Father of 5 children: Michael, John, Kathy, Linda, and Elizabeth.
Peter was a captain in the Newark Fire Department (Engine 16, Ferry Street) and was a Newark fireman from 1958-1987. He loved his job as a fireman for the city of Newark, and followed in the footsteps of his father who was also a Newark Fire Captain.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 3/1951 - 3/1955. Stationed in Hawaii.
Pete loved home projects that involved carpentry and building things with his hands. He loved to swim in the ocean, lake, and pool. He was an avid bicycle rider through the streets of Nutley and Clifton. He enjoyed fresh air and sunshine, and taking long walks in the park with his wife. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family, and took great pride in his children and being a father.
You are thought of every day, and missed by so many.
