Services for M.C. (Clark) Billingsley, 86, of Clovis, will be held at 10 a.m. (CST) Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at the First Baptist Church of Farwell, Texas. The Rev. J.L. Bass will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace in Farwell.
Steed-Todd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Billingsley died Monday, Jan. 28, 1999, in Albuquerque. He was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Pecan Gap, Texas.
Mr. Billingsley was the second child born to Ernest Ural "E.U." and Minnie Lou Billingsley. He married Clara Mae Copeland on Dec. 13, 1936, in Morton, Texas. He farmed in the Lariat area until 1975 and helped his wife operate Clara's Spur Restaurant in Texico until 1980. He home has been in the Lariat, Farwell area since 1948.
Mr. Billingsley is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Billingsley of the home; his children, Toni and Bob Betty of Concan, Texas, Phillip and Mary Gay Billingsley of Las Cruces and Sherry and Jerry Childs of Albuquerque; one sister, Lou Ellen and husband, John Ogletree, of Oroville, Calif; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Guyn Holt of Clovis, NM; one nephew, H.R. Billingsley of El Paso, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren, Robert C. Betty and family of Dallas, TX, Michael J. Billingsley and family of Avon, Colo., Jeffrey B. Betty and family of San Angelo, TX, Lori L. Tufaro and family of Albuquerque, Tonya L. Billingsley of San Diego, Calif., Jay M. Childs and Jon E. Childs, both of Albuquerque; and seven great-grandchildren Aisling, Clark, Samuel, Rachel, Ian, Sarah and Jacob.
Mr. Billingsley was preceded in death by a baby son, Benny Dean; his parents, Ernest Ural and Minnie Lou Billingsley; a sister, Johnie Mae; and two brothers, Herschel Rayburn and Cal Scott.
Pallbearers will be five grandsons and Jerry Tufaro, grandson-in-law.
Honorary pallbeaerers will be all friends and relatives.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Box 129, Farwell, TX 79325.
