James Truett Caddenhead and wife Zelphy Sides came to Texas from Alabama in the 1850's. They had four children, three daughters and a son, all of whom were born in Texas on the claim settled in Houston County by their father, James Truett Caddenhead. These children were: Mary Caddenhead Currie, Martha Jane Caddenhead Page, Loutisha Caddenhead Currie and James Harrison Caddenhead.
James T. Caddenhead settled on an established claim of 160 acres, in 1856. His son, James Harrison Caddenhead inherited 53 1/3 acres of this claim on December 26, 1885.
James Harrison and Ettie Johnston Caddenhead deeded in 1895 an acre of land for the construction of the first church in the community, namely Mt. Olive Congregational Methodist Church.
