Youngest son of William Allardyce and Anne Simpson. William was born in 1777 in Bernie, Scotland, UK, an Officer in the British Navy. John removed to Galveston, Texas with his brother Samuel and engaged in ship building. John took part in the defense of Galveston when it was bombarded by the Federal Navy during the War. He died later as a result of immersion in the waters of Galveston Harbor during the War.
