Thomas Coleman was born on January 26, 1923 in Durant, Oklahoma and passed away in Lancaster, California on March 17, 2012. Mr. Coleman was a WWII veteran in the US Navy. He was a member of First Assembly of God while in Durant and remained active as a worship leader in his later years living in Quartz Hill, California. His gifts as a songwriter and a musician will be missed. He worked as a set builder in Hollywood, California before starting his career as an Iron-Worker for Local 416, Los Angeles, California. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Cynthia Foster Coleman; four siblings, Clarence, Elmer, Floyd,and Zelpha; first wife, Bessie Mathieson Coleman and second wife, Lucille Buchanan Coleman. Mr. Coleman is survived by his children, Cynthia Elizabeth Garcia of Rocklin, California, Dwight V. Coleman of Anaheim, California, Lois Emel of Seabeck, Washington; step-children, Carol Franci Weaver of Bishop, California and Dennis Franci of Quartz Hill, California; grandchildren, Cory, Russell, and Adam Garcia, Jonathan and Joshua Coleman, and Scott Hysel; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. A Graveside Celebration of Mr. Colemans life will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
